Myakka City RV Rentals

Myakka City has a small town charm and a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. Among the attractions available to Myakka City are Solomon’s Castle. Conceived and executed by Howard S. Solomon, the castle sits beside winding Horse Creek amidst oaks and palmettos. Two sentinels guard the castle doors, one armored in black and the other in white. The guards are affectionately known as Knight and Day. Visitors can enjoy a royal lunch aboard “The Boat in the Moat,” a replica of a 60 foot, 16th Century Spanish Galleon. After dining, cross over the drawbridge for a walk along a spectacular nature trail. Another colorful and entertaiing venue is the Hermann Lippizan Ranch where visitors can see the Royal Lipizzan Stallions perform. For the nature lover’s and outdoorsmen, Myakka River State Park is home to one of Florida’s most diverse natural areas. The Myakka River flows through 58 square miles of wetlands, prairies, hammocks, and pinelands. Visitors can view wildlife from the boardwalk spanning Upper Myakka Lake, or from the treetops while strolling along the canopy walkway. The park provides ample venues for freshwater fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. Nature trails across vast expanses of Florida dry prairie provide hikers with a unique and challenging opportunity. Safari tram tours of the park’s back country are offered from December through May and scenic lake tours aboard the world’s two largest airboats are offered daily. Campers can take advantage of the park’s full facility campgrounds or “rough it” at a primitive campsite. The Crowley Museum and Nature Center is located on 190 acres of native rangeland close to the Myakka River. A designated wildlife sanctuary, the Center features nature trails, a 2000 foot boardwalk through a swamp, an observation tower which looks out over a marsh, and a pioneer history center where guests can see how people lived in early Florida. The Center is open year-round. An RV is the ideal way to enjoy all the sights, attractions, and recreational activities that Florida has to offer.
